Champions League finalists take on Conference League finalists in Coppa Italia final

A clash of epic proportions is set to be played out as the Champions League finalists Inter Milan go head-to-head with Conference League finalists Fiorentina tonight in the Coppa Italia final.

Fiorentina have done a massive job in progressing to the Conference League finals this season but they have compromised in the league. Currently sitting in 11th place in the Serie A standings, the Viola will fight tooth and nail to win the Coppa Italia as the title will guarantee them a place in the Europa League for next season.

Vincenzo Italiano would consider this season a rather disappointing one because of their league position but he knows that the Coppa Italia triumph would grant them a place in the Europa League next season. However, if they fail to achieve the crown today, they are set to miss out on European competition.

Key players like Arthur Cabral, Sofyan Amrabat and Cristiano Biraghi, who were rested against Torino will feature in the starting eleven tonight for Fiorentina.

Giacomo Bonaventura will aim to carry his stellar form against Inter as he scored the decisive goal against them when these two sides last met.

Meanwhile, Inter will hope to secure the second piece of silverware this season after clinching the Supercoppa Italiana earlier this year defeating neighbourhood rivals Milan.

Following Juventus' 10-point deduction by the FIGC, the Nerazzurri moved to 3rd place in the league standings and need only a point to secure Champions League football for next season. Inter will hope to clinch the Coppa Italia for the second time in a row.

Lautaro Martinez and Edin Dzeko are set to start up front.

Marcelo Brozovic is set to deputize for Henrikh Mkhitaryan, who is ruled out with a recent injury. Captain Samir Handanovic is expected to start in between the sticks.
