'Rishad's next process is to master flipper and slider'

Bangladesh's spin-bowling coach Mushtaq Ahmed held a one-day spin camp at Mirpur with emerging spinners of the country and following the camp, he spoke about Rishad Hossain's endeavours in mastering flippers and sliders.

"Rishad is bowling very well now and getting lots of wickets for Bangladesh. Everyone wants to be like Rishad Hossain now -- batting, bowling and fielding, everything," Mushtaq said. "He has already learned the leg-break and googly, and now the next process is to master the flipper, top spinner and slider."

Having watched the emerging spinners, Mushtaq prioritised that spinners need to keep their basics right. 

"Bangladesh's spin future is very bright. But the key is to protect these youngsters and make sure their basics and processes are right," he said.

"On good pitches, you don't get much turn, so you must know how to spin the ball yourself -- that comes from a strong process."
