Rishad reveals his thoughts on IPL

Bangladesh leg-spinner Rishad Hossain has said he doesn't expect too much from IPL auction, lest he has to get hurt if not picked up.

The young leggie was one of 12 Bangladesh shortlisted for this month's auction for next year's IPL. Speaking to reporters in Mirpur on Sunday, the young leggie said he is going ahead of regular plans.

"Everyone has a wish (to play in the IPL). But I don't expect too much. I don't hope too much so that I don't have to get hurt," said the 22-year-old, who came to prominence after taking 14 wickets in the T20 World Cup last year.

The IPL auction will be held on November 24 and 25 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. When asked which side he would like to play for, if selected, Rishad named his favourite side.

"I didn't think of anything like this. Suppose I I thought of Chennai, but get picked by another team. Then I may feel bad," Rishad said. "But my favorite is Kolkata since Shakib (Al Hasan) bhai played there for a long time."

The 22-year-old has already been selected by Big Bash side Hobart Hurricanes from the draft. However, his immediate concern is playing in the Global Super League where he will represent Bangladesh's Rangpur Riders.

"I do not think of any goal in advance. I just want to continue with match by match. I will go with the normal plan. As our opponents are four different teams. I will try to give my best against them," said the 22-year-old, who hasn't had too much success in international cricket in recent times. He, however, feels that a good outing in the Global Super League can open up new avenues for him.

"If you play well in one place, chances will increase in few other places. I will try to do well," concluded Rishad.
