Rawalpindi scoop up Rishad for PKR 30mn
Bangladesh leg-spinner Rishad Hossain has been signed by Rawalpindi Express for PKR 30 million in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) auction held on Wednesday.
Rishad impressed for Lahore Qalandars in the previous PSL season, claiming 13 wickets in seven matches at an economy rate of 9.33. Despite his strong performance, Lahore released him ahead of this year’s draft and did not bid to bring him back.
However, both Karachi and Rawalpindi showed keen interest before Rawalpindi secured his services after a bidding contest.
A total of 903 local and foreign cricketers were up for auction, including 53 from Bangladesh. Mehedi Hasan Miraz was the first Bangladeshi name to come up in the draft but went unsold.
Former Lahore player Shakib Al Hasan, top, went unsold.
