Rangpur Riders-BSJA Media Cup cricket final on Friday

The semifinal lineup of the Rangpur Riders–BSJA Media Cup cricket tournament was completed on Thursday, with Daily Kaler Kantha, Channel I, Channel 24 and RTV booking their places in the last four of the 32-media-house competition at the Maulana Bhashani National Hockey Stadium.

Both semifinals and the final are scheduled to be held on Friday at the same venue.

Bangladesh ODI team captain Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Bangladesh Cricket Board director Ishtiaque Sadeque are expected to be present at the final.

In the day's quarterfinals, Daily Kaler Kantha secured a 16-run victory over Cricfrenzy after posting 106 runs in 5.3 overs. In reply, Cricfrenzy were restricted to 90 runs in the stipulated six overs.

Channel 24 cruised to a five-wicket win against Daily Janakantha, comfortably chasing down a modest target of 69 in just 3.1 overs without losing a wicket.

RTV also advanced with ease, chasing down a target of 116 set by Somoy TV while losing only one wicket. Meanwhile, Channel I registered a dominant 53-run win over Jagonews. Chasing a daunting target of 155 in six overs, Jagonews could manage only 101 runs in their allotted overs.
