Rangpur Riders defeated Lahore Qalandars by 23 runs on the DLS method to secure their place in the final of the ExxonMobil Guyana Global Super League (GSL) in Georgetown, Guyana, on Friday.

Rangpur will face Australia's Cricket Victoria tomorrow, after the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) side edged past Lahore and the home side, Guyana Amazon Warriors -- all locked on four points -- based on net run rate.

At Providence Stadium, the weather intervened, reducing the encounter to a nine-over shootout.

Opting to bat first, Nurul Hasan Sohan's team made a strong start, with Player of the Match Steven Taylor and Soumya Sarkar putting together a 47-run opening stand before Soumya was bowled by Salman Mirza for 22 runs off 13 deliveries.

Saif Hassan then joined the fray, continuing the momentum with an unbeaten 27 off 14 deliveries, while Taylor scored 32 off 27 balls before rain interrupted proceedings. The revised DLS calculation set the Lahore a daunting target of 111 runs from nine overs.

In response, despite a valiant 31 off 20 balls from Mirza Baig and a brisk 25 off 12 deliveries from Tom Abell, Lahore struggled to keep up with the required run rate. With 33 runs needed off the final over, the Pakistan Super League side fell short, finishing on 87 for seven in their allotted nine overs.
