Mymensingh earn draw on NCL debut
Mymensingh made a solid start to their National Cricket League (NCL) campaign, earning a draw in their debut match at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium on Tuesday.
Sylhet had taken an 88-run lead in the first innings before Mymensingh reached 58 for no loss at the end of Day Three. Naim Sheikh scored 58, while first-innings centurion Ariful Islam top-scored with 62 as Mymensingh finished on 272 for nine to secure a draw.
At the Rajshahi Divisional Stadium, Chattogram defeated the hosts by 112 runs. Resuming the day on 219 for four, Rajshahi's Pritom Kumar fell short of a century, dismissed for 83, while Shakhir Hossain added 52. Rajshahi were eventually bowled out for 370. Hasan Murad took three wickets, and Nayeem Hasan claimed two to seal Chattogram's win.
Meanwhile, Dhaka and Rangpur played out a draw at the Sylhet Academy Ground. Jishan Alam narrowly missed a century, falling for 97 as Dhaka were bowled out for 333. Chasing 197, Rangpur reached 115 for six before bad light brought an early end to play on Day Four. Ripon Mondol and Taibur Rahman picked up two wickets apiece for Dhaka.
