Mushfiqur eyes 100th Test as BCB announces Ireland series schedule

Bangladesh stalwart Mushfiqur Rahim is on the verge of a major milestone, with the veteran wicketkeeper-batter set to play his 100th Test during Ireland's upcoming tour of Bangladesh in November.
The Bangladesh Cricket Board on Saturday announced the itinerary for the series which begins on November 11 and features two Tests followed by three T20Is.
Mushfiqur, 38, has represented Bangladesh in 98 Tests so far. If he features in both the red-ball matches against Ireland, he will the first Bangladesh player to reach the 100-Test landmark.
Ireland will arrive in Bangladesh on November 6 and begin their campaign with the first Test at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium from November 11. The second Test is scheduled to start on November 19 at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur.
The series will mark the first-ever full Test series between Bangladesh and Ireland. The two sides have met in the format only once before -- in April 2023 in Mirpur -- when Bangladesh clinched a seven-wicket win.
Following the Tests, the action will shift to Chattogram for a three-match T20I series at the Bir Shrestha Shaheed Flight Lieutenant Motiur Rahman Cricket Stadium on November 27, 29, and December 2.
