Emon smashes fastest fifty by a Bangladeshi

Bangladesh opener Parvez Hossain Emon etched his name into the record books today, smashing the fastest-ever fifty by a Bangladeshi player across all formats.
Emon reached his half-century in just 15 balls, eclipsing the previous record held by Shuvagata Hom, who struck a 16-ball fifty in the T20 edition of the DPL back in 2019.
The record-breaking knock came during Abahani's 10-wicket demolition of Shinepukur Cricket Club at BKSP 3, where Emon remained unbeaten on 61 off just 23 deliveries.
His blistering innings included four boundaries and six towering sixes, helping his side chase down a modest 89-run target in only 6.4 overs.
The fastest fifty in world cricket, though, was scored in nine balls -- six less than Emon's -- by Dipendra Singh Airee of Nepal during an Asian Games match against Mongolia in 2023.
