CWAB seeks clarification from BCB over players’ exclusion from BPL auction

The Cricketers Welfare Association of Bangladesh (CWAB) has formally written to the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) seeking an explanation for the exclusion of several players from the 2025-26 Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) auction list.

In a press release issued on December 2, CWAB said the affected cricketers were "highly distressed" by the decision, noting that both their professional futures and personal reputations had been put at risk. The association urged the BCB to directly communicate with the cricketers involved to clear the air.

"They are professional cricketers with their future at stake, but more importantly their reputation has been tarnished," the statement, signed by CWAB president Mohammad Mithun, read.

CWAB reiterated its commitment to upholding integrity in the game and expressed full confidence in the BCB's Integrity Unit, which oversees player vetting and discipline. The body, however, stressed that a dialogue was necessary to restore confidence among the wider player community.

"We are hopeful that the BCB will engage in a conversation with the concerned cricketers soon," the statement said, adding that such communication would reassure all professional cricketers across the country.
