The Cricket Committee of Dhaka Metropolis (CCDM) will reopen the players' transfer window till December 6 for the upcoming edition of the Dhaka First Division Cricket League, confirmed an official.

The window originally closed on November 6, and only 12 of the 20 clubs took part in it. The other eight teams are part of the 44 clubs who are boycotting all domestic leagues in protest of alleged irregularities in the previous elections of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB).

The board initially postponed the first division league but after the protesting clubs reaffirmed their stance to continue the boycott on Tuesday, the BCB has extended the transfer window. The board president Aminul Islam Bulbul had also announced that the first division league would begin on December 11.

"Yes, we have extended the dates to December 5 and 6 for players' transfer. The players will be able to take token for participation as well," a CCDM official informed.

"Yes, the dates for the league is now set. The clubs that don't participate will be relegated. For players who are now unable to play in the league due to clubs' protests, there have been discussions about arranging a separate league but that's a matter for later.

"For now, we are hoping that we will go ahead with the first division league with 12-14 teams," he added.
