BCB's new board in controversy right away

Less than 24 hours after the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) elections, a change has already been confirmed in the newly formed board.

The BCB elections, held on Monday, saw 23 directors elected from three different categories, while the National Sports Council (NSC) nominated two additional directors – Ishfaq Ahsan and Yasir Mohammad Foysal Ashiq. Both nominees were relatively unknown figures in the country's cricket or sports fraternity, drawing widespread discussion online.

Controversy intensified when social media users pointed out Ishfaq Ahsan's reported affiliation with the ousted Awami League regime.

Amid the growing backlash, the NSC has decided to revise its nominations. Confirming the development, NSC Executive Director Kazi Nazrul Islam told reporters,

"The National Sports Council will nominate another person in place of Ishfaq. The new nomination letter will be issued tomorrow."
