Babar tops Kohli’s fifty record as Pakistan win SA T20I series
Pakistan sealed the three-match T20I series with a four-wicket win over South Africa in Lahore on Saturday, with Babar Azam once again at the centre of history.
After becoming the highest run-scorer in T20 internationals during Friday's nine-wicket win – surpassing India's Rohit Sharma with 4,234 runs – Babar followed up by overtaking Virat Kohli's record for the most T20I fifties. His 68 off 48 balls, his 40th half-century in the format, anchored Pakistan's chase of 140 after early setbacks.
Ealier, after the hosts opted to field first, Shaheen Shah Afridi ripped through South Africa's top order, taking three for 26, while Usman Tariq (two for 26) and Faheem Ashraf (two for 28) ensured the visitors were restricted to 139 for nine despite Corbin Bosch's unbeaten 30.
With skipper Salman Ali Agha contributing a steady 33, Pakistan crossed the finish line in the 19th over to secure the series 2-1.
