Gayle loses BBL contract after fresh sexism row

Big Bash League club Melbourne Renegades have chosen to not re-sign the West Indies controversial batsman Chris Gayle for the T20 tournament's next season with the player deeply embroiled in an array of controversies.

"We’ll unveil our international signings soon and Chris isn’t part of those plans," Big Bash League (BBL) franchise Melbourne Renegades’ chief executive Stuart Coventry Coventry told News Corp, reports cricket.com.au

According to the aforementioned report, the Jamaican opener has lurched between controversies since his boundary-line "don't blush baby" interview with reporter Mel McLaughlin.

Only a few days back, West Indies' cricket superstar Chris Gayle placed himself in more hot water after an in-depth interview with UK magazine The Times came out that was replete with sexual innuendos fired at the female reporter, Charlotte Edwardes.

The interview was conducted during his ongoing Indian Premier League stint and on the occasion of the publication of his autobiography 'Six Machine ... I don't like cricket, I love it'.

Gayle now faces possible censure from his UK county club Somerset when he arrives in the UK following his latest controversial remarks to a female journalist in that country.

The West Indian equaled the record for the fastest T20 fifty in his final innings for the Renegades last summer, but otherwise was below par with 260 runs at 32.50 in eight matches.
