Record win takes Bangladesh to 2nd place
Bangladesh moved to the second position of the points table after they thumped Nepal by 92 runs in the 8th match of the Women’s T20 Asia Cup at the Asian Institute of Technology ground in Bangkok today.
Chasing 134 for victory, Nepal were never in the game as they lost half their side inside eight overs with only 21 runs on the board.
Bangladesh’s Fahima Khatun wrecked havoc in Nepal’s ranks as she captured four wickets for only eight runs in four overs. Nahida Akhtar took two wickets to help her side achieve the record victory in terms of runs.
Earlier, Bangladesh rode on the opening stand of 71 between Sanjida Islam and Nigar Sultana to post their highest total in T20 cricket. Nigar scored 39 from 41 while Sanjida made 35 from 45 balls to help Bangladesh post 133 for 4 after 20 overs.
Bangladesh’s next match is on November 30 against Pakistan.
