BCB moves ICC to clear Taskin
Unhappy over Taskin Ahmed’s ban, Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has knocked the International Cricket Council (ICC) hoping for a positive response in the matter.
“We don’t have any reason to be satisfied with Taskin’s report,” BCB President Nazmul Hasan Papon told journalists in Gulshan this afternoon.
Papon said that he spoke to ICC chairman Shashank Manohar in the issue and filed the board’s observation on Taskin’s report. “The ICC has called in their lawyers to discuss the issue.”
While Papon wasn’t ready to reveal the observations that the board had, he did however say that he was “hopeful” of a positive outcome. “We want them to stay the suspension.”
“Honestly speaking, we have never seen a decision getting immediately changed by the ICC, but regarding Taskin’s issue if that does happen I won’t be amazed. I am hopeful,” he added.
A youngster, Taskin Ahmed has been one of the pillars who has brought about the pace revolution in the spin-den of Bangladesh’s national cricket team.
Yesterday, ICC banned Taskin and a spinner Arafat Sunny for their bowling action – at a time when the team is competing at the Twenty20 World Cup being held in India.
The ban drew flak from Bangladesh cricket supporters who have expressed their bitter opinions in social media.
