Shakib enters Hadlee’s elite list
Bangladesh's Shakib Al Hasan joins an elite list with New Zealand's Sir Richard Hadlee after his performances with bat and ball against Australia in the first Test at Mirpur, Dhaka.
Shakib Al Hasan becomes only the second cricketer in history to score a half century and take 10 wickets in the same match more than once.
Shakib's previous haul of 10-wickets came against Zimbabwe in 2014. Shakib scored 137 runs against Zimbabwe in the first innings and grabbed 10 wickets in the match.
Shakib also became the fifth cricketer to do the double in their 50th Test match. Trevor Bailey, Richard Hadlee, Muttiah Muralitharan and Harbhajan Singh are the other four cricketers to take 10 wickets in their landmark 50th Test.
Shakib scored a fantastic 84 in the first innings which allowed Bangladesh to fighback from a point where they were struggling at 10 for the loss of three wickets in their first innings on the first day.
