SHOUT, DON'T TAP

Platform: Android/iOS

Chicken Scream is pretty much like every runner game - you have to make a chicken run, jump, collect some coins in the process and avoid several hurdles to keep it alive. What sets it apart from other similar games is that instead of tapping the chicken, you have to use your voice to move it forward.

I was a little skeptical about the game at first. It has a very Flappy Bird-like art style and the goal of the game is sort of the same - easy to call it just another coin collecting bird game and move on with our lives. But then, I figured out I was having to speak to the chicken to make it walk and scream at it to make it jump over water and other obstacles. Imagine singing Bohemian Rhapsody while playing the game, and saving the chicken from a giant spike as you hit the high note. You're able to control the sensitivity of the microphone and with the coins you collect, you can buy cooler virtual chickens. One negative aspect of the game might be the video ads but given the features of the game, it can be overlooked.

Gaming apps have come a long way when it comes to creating immersive platforms for anyone and everyone. To see more gimmicks like voice control being added to these just makes things more exciting. Chicken Scream is definitely worth a download.
