Prison guard tests positive for coronavirus

A prison guard who used to discharge his duties for ailing prisoners at different city hospitals was tested positive for Covid-19 today.

The prison guard used to stay at the old central jail in Bakshibazar after discharging his duties. He exhibited symptoms for Covid-19 on Sunday, officials said.

"We asked him to go for the test that day. The report, released today, confirmed that he tested positive," said Mahbubul Islam, jailor of Dhaka Central Jail in Keraniganj.

Hailing from Narayanganj, the prison guard did not visit Keraniganj jail recently.
