Second day of SCBA polls begins

Voting in the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA)’s 14 executive posts rolled into the second and final day today.

The voting resumed at 10:00am and will continue till 5:00pm in SCBA auditorium in Dhaka. The result is likely to be announced tonight.

Some 2,906 lawyers out of total 6,152 cast their votes on the first day of the two-day annual election yesterday.

Awami League leader and former SCBA president Advocate Yusuf Hossain Humayun, BNP leader and incumbent SCBA President Advocate Zainul Abedin, Advocate Shah MdKhasruzzaman and Advocate Eunus Ali Akond are all contesting for president’s post.

Meanwhile, Advocate Sheikh MdMorshed, incumbent SCBA secretary and former BNP lawmaker Barrister AM Mahbub Uddin Khokon and Advocate AlhajAbul Bashar are contesting for the post of secretary, Nimesh Chandra added.
