Those responsible for rawhide price fall won’t be spared: Quader
Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader today warned that those responsible for rawhide price fall would not be spared.
“The government is investigating to find out the syndicate (if any) behind the rawhide price fall incident . . . Legal action will be taken if anyone is found guilty and none will be spared,” he told newsmen after exchanging Eid greetings with them at the Secretariat.
Quader said the matter of syndicate will be investigated neutrally. “At first we should know the syndicate (if any). Then legal steps would be taken against those responsible,” he added.
Trashing BNP leaders’ allegation that a syndicate was involved in rawhide price slump, Quader said they are only raising sweeping allegations. “Ask him (BNP leader) to give evidence and names of those involved in the syndicate,” he said.
The minister said BNP has no positive work. They are always doing negative criticism of the government, he added.
He however assured that those responsible for the rawhide price fall would be punished.
Replying to a question, the minister said the Eid journey of people was comfortable.
“But there were some mistakes and we will take lesson from those. I hope that the suffering of people on some roads will be reduced in phases and we are working in this regard,” he added.
