Talks fruitful: Badruddoza

Bikalpa Dhara Bangladesh (BDB) Dr AQM Badruddoza Chowdhury tonight said the talks between Awami League-led 14-party alliance and Jukta Front was fruitful.

Expressing his optimism, Badruddoza Chowdhury who led the Jukta Front to the dialogue, said that the prime minister has listened patiently to all their speeches.

Chowdhury told this to journalists while coming out of the PM’s official residence Gono Bhaban.

He hoped that the talks will continue.

The Jukta Front has placed a seven-point demand at the dialogue.

Their demands include: deployment of army by giving them limited power, cancellation of EVM and forming of a national government, our staff correspondent reports quitting the Front’s leaders from the spot.

Starting around 7:45pm, the dialogue lasted over three hours.

Prime Minister and the President of Bangladesh Awami League Sheikh Hasina led a 14-party delegation at the dialogue while Jukta Front chairman Badruddoza Chowdhury a 21-member team.

AL accepted most of the demands, says Quader

Meanwhile, Awami League has accepted most of the demands which were placed by Jukta Front, General Secretary Obaidul Quader told Journalists after the talks ended tonight.

The dialogue with Jukta Front was constructive, Quader added.

He hoped that the alliance will take part in the general election.

Yesterday, Dr Kamal led 20-member delegation of newly formed alliance Jatiya Oikyafront to a dialogue with Awami League-led 14-party alliance at the Gono Bhaban.

The dialogue was focused on reaching a consensus over holding the next general election in a fair, credible and inclusive manner.
