Awami League Joint General Secretary Mahbub-ul-Alam Hanif today said BNP will fall apart for resorting to terrorism and siding with war criminals.

"Khaleda Zia, you won't be able to harm the Sheikh Hasina's government, no matter what conspiracies you and your son are hatching in London. The more your plots will get deeper, the greater your party will be affected," he said.

Hanif further said, "Your party has already started facing splits and it will fall apart. You just wait and see."

The ruling party leader made the remarks while speaking at a joint meeting with assistant secretaries of the party's central sub-committees at the party president's Dhanmondi office in Dhaka.

The meeting was arranged ahead of Awami League's public rally to be held at the city's Suhrawardy Udyan on November 2.

About BNP vice-chairman Shamsher Mobin Chowdhury's resignation from his party, Hanif said no man of conscience can accept the terrorist acts BNP has carried out in recent times.

"Many people might have silently accepted these acts for their party post and position and personal gains. I believe there're still many leaders who will desert the party as it took position in favour of war criminals."

Yesterday, Shamsher Mobin Chowdhury announced his retirement from politics resigning from all the posts of BNP citing health ground.

Refuting BNP leader Nazrul Islam Khan's allegation that the government is trying to split BNP, the ruling party leader said their party does not believe in the politics of breaking political parties.

He alleged that BNP founder Ziaur Rahman had introduced the politics of dividing political parties. "Awami League has no such intention to break away any party."
