20 hurt in Ctg BCL infighting

At least 20 people were injured in infighting between two groups of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) in Chittagong city this afternoon.

The fight took place during the 68th founding anniversary programme of BCL at Central Shaheed Minar around 1:00pm, reports our Chittagong correspondent.

It ensued from a trivial matter, said Jashim Uddin, officer-in-charge of Kotwali Police Station. The clash stopped after intervention of other senior leaders of BCL.

Chhatra League’s Chittagong city President Emran Ahmed Imu and General Secretary Nurul Azim Rony could not be reached on their cell phones for comments.
