HSC results: Girls outshine boys
Female students have outshined the male candidates in this year’s Higher Secondary Certificate examinations.
The girl’s pass rate of all education boards is 69.72 percent while the pass rate of boys is 63.88 percent, according to an official copy of the result.
Of 6, 80, 848 male students who appeared in the exams, 4, 34,958 passed, while 4,23, 843 female students among 6,07, 909 candidates passed this year.
Average pass rate of this year’s HSC examinations was 66.64 per cent, down from 66.84 per cent last year, and the number of GPA 5 achievers plummeted to 29,262.
A total of 12, 88, 757 examinees from 8,864 educational institutions appeared in the examinations.
Last year too, girls beat the boys with their pass rate about 2.28 percentage points higher than their counterparts.
