Boat capsizes in Chalan Beel, 5 missing

Five people went missing after a boat capsized in Pabna’s Chalan Beel area this evening.

The boat was carrying 22 people when it got affected by strong currents near Paikpara village around 7:30pm, our Pabna correspondent reports.

All of them, but five, were able to swim ashore, Officer-in-Charge of Chatmohor Police Station Md Badruddoza said. “A rescue operation is underway.”

Expert divers were being called to the spot.
