Local BNP leader killed in road crash in Rajshahi

A BNP leader of Durgapur upazila in Rajshahi was killed and two others were injured in a road accident at Puthia upazila of Rajshahi this morning.

The deceased, Kamruzzaman Lablu, vice president of Durgapur upazila unit of BNP died on the spot, reports our Rajshahi staff correspondent quoting Shakil Uddin Ahmed, officer-in-charge of Puthia Police Station.

The accident occurred when the motorcycle being driven by Lablu collided head on with another motorcycle at Banshbaria area on Shibpur-Durgapur road at 10:30am, he said.

The two injured, Billur Hossain, 16, and Faruk, 18, were admitted to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital.

Both the motorcyclists were driving in high speed and none of them were wearing helmets.
