A man died after a trawler capsized in Rangamati river under Bakergonj upazila of Barisal due to strong currents. 

The deceased Anowar Hossain, 42 was a medical representative by profession, reports our Barisal correspondent quoting Md Masuduzzaman, officer-in-charge of Bakergonj Police Station.

The trawler suddenly capsized at Goma ghat area carrying at least twenty five passengers around 6:00am today. All passengers except the victim managed to reach the river bank, said the official.

Fire service officials were able to recover Anowar's dead body this morning after conduing a search operation in the area, said Habibur Rahaman, team leader of Fire Service River Station at Barisal.
