BTCL slashes internet price, introduces new packages

Bangladesh Telecommunications Company Limited (BTCL) has announced revisions to its internet packages, increasing internet speeds across all existing data packs without raising monthly prices.

In a press statement issued on January 11, 2026, the state-owned operator said speeds on its fixed internet plans have been upgraded by up to 3 times, while fees remain unchanged. Under the revised structure, existing packages have been replaced with higher-speed options at the same price points. The changes include:

  • BDT 399: previously 5 Mbps (Sulav-5), now 20 Mbps (Sashroyi-20)

  • BDT 500: previously 12 Mbps (Sulav-12), now 25 Mbps (Sashroyi-25)

  • BDT 500: previously 15 Mbps (Campus-15), now 50 Mbps (Campus-50 – only for educational institutions)

  • BDT 800: previously 15 Mbps (Sulav-15), now 50 Mbps (Sashroyi-50)

  • BDT 1,050: previously 20 Mbps (Sulav-20), now 100 Mbps (Sashroyi-100)

  • BDT 1,150: previously 25 Mbps (Sulav-25), now 120 Mbps (Sashroyi-120)

  • BDT 1,300: previously 30 Mbps (Sulav-30), now 130 Mbps (Sashroyi-130)

  • BDT 1,700: previously 50 Mbps (Sulav-50), now 170 Mbps (Sashroyi-170)

As per BTCL, the internet packages will be offered on a shared bandwidth basis and will include access to cached and local content. All monthly charges are inclusive of value-added tax. Customers subscribing to internet or bundled packages of 50 Mbps or higher will receive an optical network terminal (ONT) or router free of charge.

BTCL said customers may also add a landline connection to their monthly internet package for an additional BDT 100. Applications for the services can be submitted through the myBTCL portal or the Telesheba mobile app. Further information is available via the company’s customer service hotline at 16402.
