Shamim elected CJFD president, Touhidur general secretary

Mohammad Shamim Jahangir, editor of Just Energy News, and Touhidur Rahman, special correspondent of RTV, have been elected president and general secretary respectively of the Chittagong Journalists Forum, Dhaka (CJFD) for the 2026-2028 term.

The new executive committee was announced today following a special general meeting at the organisation's office in Sandwip Bhaban in Dhaka's Fakirapool area, where members unanimously endorsed the panel for a two-year term.

Other office bearers are Morshed Noman (vice-president), Tarek Sikder (joint general secretary), Touhidul Islam Rana (treasurer), Shahriar Hasan Badhan (office secretary), and MA Ahad Shahin (sports and cultural affairs secretary).

The executive committee members are Mujib Masud, Jagaran Chakma, Noim Uddin, Humayun Kabir, Kamar Uddin, Prosenjit Chowdhury, and Shiponkor Shil.
