Hasnat Abdullah, a prominent leader of the July uprising, took oath as a member of parliament today, wearing the same jersey he was seen in during the July uprising.

Hasnat, now chief organiser (South) of the National Citizen Party (NCP), was elected from Cumilla-4 (Debidwar) constituency in the 13th parliamentary election on February 12, winning all polling centres in the seat.

The oath-taking ceremony for newly elected lawmakers was held at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban this afternoon, administered by Chief Election Commissioner AMM Nasir Uddin.

Hasnat took the oath alongside five other NCP MPs-elect. The party leaders also became members of the Constitutional Reform Council.
