Police remove ‘July fighters’ from Jatiya Sangsad premises

Police removed protesters, who identified themselves as "July fighters", from the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban premises this noon.
Earlier this morning, the protesters gathered in front of the stage set up at the South Plaza of Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban ahead of the July National Charter signing ceremony.
Law enforcers started dispersing them around 1:15pm and fired a tear gas shell.

A police vehicle was vandalised and several people were injured during the incident, our photojournalist reported from the spot.
At 1:39pm, police fired several more tear gas shells to disperse the crowd.

Protesters ran and took position nearby. Police then charged baton to drive them away.
The firing of tear gas shells continued for some time, our correspondent reported. Protesters also set fire to furniture from nearby MP Hostel, in front of the south gate of parliament.

Around 1:50pm, police again fired several rounds of tear gas shells to disperse them from in front of the MP Hostel, witnesses said.
