Ekushey book fair rescheduled to February 25
Amar Ekushey Book Fair has been rescheduled to begin on February 25 instead of February 20, and will continue until March 15, officials announced today.
The decision was made following a view‑exchange meeting presided over by Cultural Affairs Minister Nitai Roy Chowdhury.
In a press release, Dr Selim Reza, member secretary of the Amar Ekushey Book Fair Managing Committee, said stall fees for publishers have been waived this year.
The committee also extended the deadline for stall allotment applications. “Publishers who have not yet been allotted a stall are requested to apply by 3:00pm, February 19. Stall allocation will take place at 6:00pm on the same day,” the press release added.
The meeting was also attended by the State Minister for Cultural Affairs, Ali Newaz Mahmood Khyom; the Secretary of the Ministry of Cultural Affairs, Md Mofidur Rahman; and representatives of the publishers.
