Deaths from measles, symptoms rise to 481 with six more deaths in a day
Six more patients died from measles and measles-like symptoms in 24 hours (till 8:00 am today), taking the total number of confirmed and suspected measles deaths to 481.
Of the six, three are confirmed measles deaths, according to Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
For all latest news, follow The Daily Star's Google News channel. With the three deaths, the total number of confirmed measles deaths rose to 80. Two deaths were reported from the Barishal division and one from Dhaka division, according to DGHS.
With three more suspected measles deaths reported during the same period, the total number of such deaths is now 401.
Of the latest suspected measles deaths, one each was reported from Dhaka, Sylhet and Khulna divisions.
During the same period, 138 new confirmed cases were reported, bringing the total to 8,067.
Besides, the DGHS recorded 1,270 new suspected cases in 24 hours, bringing the total to 57,856.
