11 more die from measles, measles-like symptoms in 24 hours

Two more patients died of measles in 24 hours till 8:00am today, raising the death toll this year from the disease to 85, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

Of the two, one death was reported in Dhaka division and the other in Barishal division.

In addition, the DGHS recorded nine more deaths with measles‑like symptoms during the same period, taking the number of suspected measles deaths to 414.

Over 24 hours, 1,261 new suspected cases were recorded nationwide, while the tally of confirmed cases stood at 54.

Since March 15, a total of 8,329 measles cases have been confirmed, while 60,540 suspected cases have been reported.

During the period, 43,411 patients have recovered and returned home after treatment.
