88 Covid-19 deaths recorded in a day, current positivity rate 10.40%

Eighty-eight people died from Covid-19 in 24 hours till 8am today, said a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The total number of Covid-19 deaths in the country now stands at 26,362, and the death rate stands at 1.75 percent.

A total of 33,025 samples were tested across the country and at least 3,436 new infections were recorded in this period, taking the total number of people infected to 15,07,116, added the release.

The current positivity rate is 10.40 percent while the overall positivity rate stands at 16.76 percent.

At least 5,901 Covid-19 patients have recovered during this period. The total number of recoveries now stands at 14,37,885 and the recovery rate is 95.41 percent. 

Among the 88 deceased, 54 were men and 34 were women.

Of them, three were between 21-30, eight between 31-40, 10 between 41-50, 18 between 51-60, 32 between 61-70, nine between 71-80 and six between 81-90 and two between 91-100 years old, added the release.
