‘For the first time, I will go to Boi Mela as an author’
"Aaj Robibar" famed actor Faruque Ahmed is a prominent persona in the entertainment industry, being a director and a playwright as well. After showcasing his brilliance in these three fields, the actor has now become a writer as well.
For the first time, Faruque Ahmed's books—"Sritite Humayun Ahmed '' and "Bhanga Choshma"—will be featured in the Ekushey Boi Mela. Published by Kingbodonty Publication and Shoptorshi Publications, the two books will be available at the Boi Mela from next week.
Speaking with The Daily Star, the actor shared, "I have countless memories with Humayun Ahmed. Even shared these memories via Facebook posts, from time to time. I have also written down some of those memories while writing 'Sritite Humayun Ahmed'. And that's how the book was completed."
The actor revealed that his memories of Humayun Ahmed during the liberation war are also mentioned in the book. "I couldn't cover all my memories with Humayun Ahmed in the book," said the actor. "Maybe I'll even write again. Still, I am content with what I have written so far."
On the other hand, Faruque Ahmed's "Bhanga Choshma" features his romantic compassions, dramas and other genres write-ups. "I had mainly written these write-ups during the Covid-19 lockdowns and added more later on."
When asked about his thoughts on being an author, the actor shared, "Honestly, I am a bit tense about how the audience will see me. Because they have always known me as an actor and not a writer. I am a bit worried about how they will see me as a writer—will they like me or not?"
Even so, as a writer who is having his book displayed at the Ekushey Boi Mela for the first time, actor Faruque Ahmed is feeling quite delighted. "For the first time, I will be going to the Boi Mela as an author. I will be sitting at the stall and conversing with the reader."
Faruque Ahmed is currently busy shooting an untitled television drama with renowned actor Mosharraf Karim.
