Shariar Nazim Joy addresses Channel i Music Awards Jury controversy
Recently, Shariar Nazim Joy has gained widespread attention on social media due to a photo he posted with Riaz, both serving as jury members of Channel i Music Awards.
Netizens were quick to troll the actors for their roles as judges in the music domain, despite their lack of prior musical expertise.
The "Guti" actor has finally decided to clarify his stance on the matter via a Facebook post.
In his post, Joy stated, "There has been a slight misunderstanding about my post. Channel i Music Awards is a prestigious ceremony, which comprises various categories– one of which is the Best Music Video award."
"This year, 52 music videos were submitted for this category, and Riaz and I were responsible for evaluating the video production, not the music or composition. Our focus was solely on the video's quality for our audience. I am not sure why the organisers selected us as judges for music videos, but we were delighted for the opportunity and gave it our best," the actor added.
Joy further emphasised, "Apart from that, as we didn't belong to the music arena, there was no chance of bias towards fellow musicians. Lastly, I would like to thank everyone for making the post go viral. Your support has greatly promoted the Channel i Music Awards."
