'Nakshikathar Jamin’ to release on OTT

After earning accolades at international festivals, Akram Khan's "Nakshikathar Jamin" was released in theaters across the country on December 27 last year. The film is now set to screen on OTT soon.
Based on acclaimed writer Hasan Azizul Haque's story "Bidhobader Kotha", the film portrays the harrowing days of the 1971 Liberation War.
"Nakshi Kathar Jamin" will be available on iScreen at the end of this month.
At its core, the film tells the story of two sisters, Rahela and Saleha, portrayed by Jaya Ahsan and Fariha Shams Sheuti. The cast also includes Iresh Zaker, Rawnak Hasan, Dibya Joyti, Shoumya Joyti, and others.
"Nakshikathar Jamin" sheds light on the sacrifices of women during the Liberation War. It depicts the everyday brutality of killings, the rise of hatred and enmity even within families, and the domestic conflicts that erupted between two opposing brothers and their sons. Against this violent backdrop, the emotional bond, vulnerability, and resilience of the two sisters take center stage.
The film has already won the Best Film award at the Bengaluru International Film Festival in India and was nominated for the ICFT-UNESCO Gandhi Medal at the 53rd International Film Festival of India (IFFI).
