Mostofa Sarwar Farooki's political satire '840' lands on iScreen
After years of anticipation, Mostofa Sarwar Farooki's new web-series, "840", is set to debut on the streaming platform iScreen on September 15. The series is being called a "double-up" of the director's wildly popular 2007 Channel i drama, "420", which became a cultural phenomenon in its time.
A poster for the new series was shared by iScreen on Friday, confirming the release date for what they describe as a "mystery-filled web series."

"840" features a stellar cast, led by Nasir Uddin Khan in the central role. He is joined by other acclaimed actors including Marzuk Russell, Fazlur Rahman Babu, Zakia Bari Momo, Shahriar Nazim Joy, and Zayed Khan. The production also shines a light on local talents, featuring actors from the Rajshahi and Naogaon regions.
In a recent interview, Farooki described the series as a stark look at the political landscape. He said, "Through the lens of a district town, we wanted to show what Bangladesh was like under the previous administration. You could call it an X-ray report of the misrule of the Awami League. I believe there will be more X-ray reports on this misrule in the future."

The series is produced by Nusrat Imrose Tisha in association with Impress Telefilm. The creative team includes cinematographer Sheikh Rajibul Islam, music director Pavel Areen, and sound designer Ripon Nath. The editing was done by Tahsin Mahim, while the art direction was handled by Ibrahim H. Babu. Pooja Chowdhury was in charge of costume design, and Md. Khairul Islam was the make-up artist.
