Mosharraf Karim’s passion for acting still burns bright: Tariq Anam Khan
Mosharraf Karim stands out as one of the most prominent actors of our current era. In recent times, he has received a lot of praise in Bangladesh and Kolkata for his performance in the second season of the thriller web-series, "Mohanagar".
The popular actor has been a part of the theatre troupe Natyakendra for almost 12 years. It's worth noting that Mosharraf Karim considers Tariq Anam Khan, the founder of Natyakendra, as his mentor.
On the occasion of the actor's birthday, Tariq Anam Khan, his theatre mentor, shared some insights into Mosharraf Karim's journey and accomplishments.
"As far as I can remember, Mosharraf Karim was a college student back then and did not complete his higher education yet, which was the minimum requirement to join the team. However, I was deeply impressed by his profound passion for acting, which is why we recruited him to Natyakendra," Tariq Anam reminisced.
"It was evident back then that Mosharraf Karim possessed an immense passion for acting, a flame that still burns brightly today," he said.
During the early days of theatre, the "Television" actor used to walk a long distance to join the rehearsals. Initially, he worked backstage. He also worked as a teacher at a coaching centre at that time.
"During rehearsals, I noticed his keen attention to detail; he observed everything closely. This was a remarkable quality," Tariq Anam expressed.
At that time, when Zahid Hasan and Tauquir Ahmed were acting on stage at Natyakendra, Mosharraf Karim felt a kind of frustration because he wasn't getting the opportunity to act.
"Later on, I heard this from others. Mosharraf Karim used to say, 'Will I ever get a chance to act on stage?'" he said.
During the production of the troupe's play, "Bichchu", a member of the play got into an accident. So, he was replaced with Mosharraf Karim for the character Kallu Mia, which garnered him a lot of praise in Bangladesh and Kolkata.
Tariq Anam Khan and Mosharraf Karim have worked together in many TV dramas and commercials. The veteran actor also shared the screen with Mosharraf in the film "Joyjatra", directed by Tauquir Ahmed.
"He is a versatile actor who can fit into any role effortlessly. He possesses a strong ability to immerse himself in any character," remarked Tariq Anam.
Besides his passion for acting, the "Haldaa" actor is deeply involved in literary pursuits. He has engaged in extensive readings and holds a profound interest in Bengali literature. Without reading, he believes characters remain undeveloped.
"Today is his birthday. On this special day, sending love and blessings for him," concluded the eminent thespian.
