‘Mirzapur: The Movie’ set for theatrical release
The makers of the popular crime drama “Mirzapur” have officially announced the release date of its film adaptation. Titled “Mirzapur: The Movie”, the movie will arrive in theatres on September 4, bringing the much-loved OTT franchise to the big screen for the first time.
Created by Puneet Krishna and directed by Gurmmeet Singh, the film will see the return of key characters from the series. Pankaj Tripathi reprises his role as Kaleen Bhaiya, while Ali Fazal returns as Guddu Pandit. Fans are especially excited about the comeback of Munna Tripathi, played by Divyenndu, one of the most popular characters from the show.
Backed by Amazon, MGM Studios and Excel Entertainment, the announcement came shortly after the completion of shooting. The makers also unveiled a new poster featuring a convoy of cars in the desert and Kaleen Bhaiya’s iconic chair, hinting at the film’s intense gangster drama.
First released in 2018, “Mirzapur” became widely popular for its gripping story of crime, politics and revenge set in the lawless world ruled by the Tripathi family. Strong performances, sharp dialogues and action-packed storytelling helped the series gain a massive fan following.
The upcoming film will continue exploring this violent power struggle, although the exact plot details are still being kept secret. The ensemble cast includes Jitendra Kumar, Ravi Kishan, Abhishek Banerjee, Rasika Duggal, Shweta Tripathi, Shriya Pilgaonkar, Harshita Gaur, Sushant Singh, Mohit Malik, Sheeba Chadha, Rajesh Tailang, Kulbhushan Kharbanda, Sonal Chauhan, Pramod Pathak and Anangsha Biswas.
With the theatrical release now confirmed, audiences are eagerly waiting to see the world of “Mirzapur” unfold on the big screen.
