Jason Momoa calls Shah Rukh Khan a ‘gentleman’
Hollywood star Jason Momoa has heaped praise on Bollywood icon Shah Rukh Khan, describing him as a “gentleman” and even calling him a “better actor and performer.”
The two actors first grabbed global attention in 2019 when a photo of them posing together at the Joy Awards in Saudi Arabia went viral. The star-studded frame also featured Jackie Chan and Jean-Claude Van Damme. Since then, Momoa and Shah Rukh have crossed paths on multiple occasions, including another recent meeting in Saudi Arabia.
While promoting his upcoming film “The Wrecking Crew”, which also stars Dave Bautista, Momoa spoke to Indian publication Pinkvilla about his interactions with the Indian superstar.
“Yes, he’s very handsome. Extremely handsome,” Momoa said with a smile when Shah Rukh’s name came up. Reflecting on their conversations, he added that the two share mutual admiration for each other’s work.
“He’s just a sweetheart. Very much a gentleman,” Momoa said. “He’s a better actor and better performer than I am. So it was mutual respect.”
Momoa began his acting journey with “Baywatch: Hawaii” in 1999 and later appeared in “Stargate Atlantis”. His breakout role came as Khal Drogo in “Game of Thrones”, after which he rose to global fame playing “Aquaman” in the DC Extended Universe, including “Justice League” and his standalone “Aquaman” films.
In recent years, he has appeared in series such as “Frontier”, “See”, and “Chief of War”, and taken on roles in major blockbusters including “Dune” and “Fast X”. Momoa is also set to portray “Lobo” in “Supergirl” as part of James Gunn’s revamped DC Universe.
Shah Rukh Khan, meanwhile, remains one of Indian cinema’s most celebrated and globally recognised stars. With a career spanning over three decades, he has delivered numerous box-office hits and earned a National Film Award for Best Actor. He is currently gearing up for the release of his next film King, which also features his daughter Suhana Khan and is slated for a Christmas release this year.
Momoa’s heartfelt praise once again highlights the cross-cultural admiration between two of the world’s biggest screen icons.
