'Jaane Jaan': Kareena Kapoor's OTT debut releasing her birthday

Kareena Kapoor's official OTT debut "Jaane Jaan" teaser is out and we get to see Vijay Varma and Jaideep Ahlawat's first look alongside the actress in the web-film. 

Directed by Sujoy Ghosh, the project is an adaptation of the Japanese novel "The Devotion of Suspect X." 

Yesterday, Netflix released the teaser and also announced the release date, same date as Kareena Kapoor's birthday. 

The caption read, "Our web-film is coming on our very own Jaane Jaan's birthday, Kareena Kapoor Khan. Mark your calendars for a present like no other. 'Jaane Jaan' will arrive on Netflix on September 21."

The short trailer reveals the thriller's dark and twisted universe, with Kareena Kapoor's character singing "Jaane Jaan" in a dark room with neon lights, while Jaideep Ahlawat and Vijay Varma are featured in fast succession. The teaser concludes with a rapid edit of action, followed by the title card.

According to Pinkvilla, Kareena plays the role of a divorced and single mother, who tries to hide the murder of her estranged husband with the help of her neighbour, all while a police probe is underway.

Kareena to make OTT debut with Sujoy Ghosh’s Netflix film

Kareena was last seen in "Laal Singh Chaddha" alongside Aamir Khan. The picture couldn't fare well at the box office. Aside from "Jaane Jaan," Kareena has "The Crew" with Tabu and Kriti Sanon scheduled for release. She is also working on Hansal Mehta's untitled project, details of which will be revealed soon.
