Falgun-Valentine’s Day special: Chorki brings ‘Tiffin Box’
This Falgun and Valentine’s Day, popular OTT platform Chorki will unveil its latest flash fiction content, “Tiffin Box”, for viewers across the country.
The short-length film will be available from midnight on 9 February (10 February Bangladesh time). Written, scripted, and directed by Rakayet Rabby, the film stars Rukaiya Jahan Chamak and Prantar Dastider.

As the title suggests, food plays a central role in the story. The director says, "Telling a love story through food or a tiffin box isn’t entirely new, but in Bengali culture, ‘feeding someone’ or ‘sharing food’ is one of the most primal and pure expressions of love—there really is no alternative to it. In this story, I haven’t used the tiffin box merely as a medium; it also helps take the urban life of the story into a dreamlike world.”
Given the focus on food, the director ensured that the characters would cook on screen. Actor Prantar Dastider revealed that he was made to cook for the film, meaning audiences will see him as a skilled cook. He said, "The character loves to cook, loves to feed people. In other words, the character loves to serve. And love itself is something you serve. My character is like that. The rest you’ll have to see in the content."

However, Prantar admits that in real life, he isn’t very familiar with balancing oil, salt, and spices.
For actress Rukaiya Jahan Chamak, it’s the opposite. While her character isn’t shown cooking in “Tiffin Box”, Chamak enjoys cooking in real life and loves feeding her loved ones. Her character, Mitu, is a lively woman who cherishes freedom and avoids romantic entanglements. Chamak explains, "The character wants to live joyfully and doesn’t want any burdens. But even that character eventually has to say, ‘The Creator has made some people whom it’s impossible not to fall in love with.’ Everyone will love this character, Mitu.”

The idea of food and love came to the director amid the city’s chaos and growing isolation. He wondered what the most powerful ways for humans to connect were, and realised that just as food is essential, so is love. Using this link, he developed the story. He adds, "Human love is, in essence, a form of rebellion. The rule of this mortal world is to fade away, but love fights against that fading. It is fundamentally a struggle between time and existence. When all the flavors of life turn bitter, only love can restore the balance.”
Apart from Prantar and Chamak, “Tiffin Box “ also stars Sharmin Sultana Shormi and Tuntuni Sobhan in important roles.
Produced under the Chorki Flash Fiction banner by Alpha-I and Chorki, the project brings a cinematic glimpse into fleeting yet meaningful moments of life, combining aesthetic storytelling with a “slice of life” approach.
