Contestant brings biryani from shop on Pakistani cooking show
On the Pakistani cooking reality show, "The Kitchen Master", a contestant recently decided to bring biriyani from the 'best shop in her area', rather than cooking the dish herself. The video clip from the show, which was circulated on social media, went viral.
The contestant had claimed that she can cook biryani, but she was not specifically instructed to bring food, which she had cooked.
After she came on the show, the judges asked her if she needed a plate to serve the food. The contestant explained that the dish she had brought was from the best shop in her area, and that she wanted the judges to taste it.
Learning the truth, the judges couldn't believe what they were hearing. After they asked her to leave, the contestant began to argue she was unaware of the show's requirements. She then refused to leave the set, which led to one of the judges becoming furious and leaving the set themselves.
The contestant also argued that she had to stand in a line to get her biryani parcel, and that it took a lot of 'hard work' and effort to bring the packaged biryani on the show.
Seeing the viral clip, many on the internet broke into laughter, commenting on the hilarious incident.
One Twitter user commented, "A spoof on this will make a great ad for @Swiggy." Someone else wrote, "This is amazing. I mean if this isn't a parody, I think someone missed a trick."
People called it entertainment, as someone wrote, "Hilarious, this is entertainment at a different level."
Another Twitter user wrote, "We don't give enough credit to Pakistani humour, because it's straightforward and also off the rails. Realness is key."
Netizens also referred to this episode of the show as 'MasterChef x Roadies'. "When you confuse the MasterChef audition with the Roadies audition," read a popular comment.
Commenting on the current economic condition of Pakistan, one Twitter user wrote, "She can afford to BUY it, that is more than enough achievement in Pakistan… Jita do (make her win)."
