Cillian Murphy to executive produce ‘Peaky Blinders’ sequel series

The Shelby family saga is set to continue, as Netflix and the BBC have commissioned a two-season sequel to "Peaky Blinders", set in 1953 Britain.
Created and written by Steven Knight, the new series follows a fresh generation of Shelbys in post-war Birmingham. The story centres on the city's massive reconstruction project after the devastation of World War II, with the race to control it described as "a brutal contest of mythical dimensions." The Shelby family will once again be at the heart of the struggle.
While casting details remain under wraps, original star Cillian Murphy is returning as an executive producer. The show will be produced by Kudos ("SAS Rogue Heroes", "House of Guinness") and Garrison Drama ("Peaky Blinders Seasons 1–6" and the upcoming film), and filmed at Digbeth Loc. Studios in Birmingham.
"I'm thrilled to be announcing this new chapter in the Peaky Blinders story," Knight said in a statement. "Once again it will be rooted in Birmingham and will tell the story of a city rising from the ashes of the Birmingham blitz. The new generation of Shelbys have taken the wheel and it will be a hell of a ride."
Each season will feature six 60-minute episodes. Alongside Knight and Murphy, executive producers include Karen Wilson and Martin Haines for Kudos, Jamie Glazebrook for Garrison Drama, Jo McClellan and Danielle Scott Haughton for the BBC, and Mona Qureshi and Toby Bentley for Netflix.
Fans of the franchise also have a film to look forward to. Titled "The Immortal Man", it is expected to release in early 2026. The film, written by Knight and directed by Tom Harper, stars Murphy in the lead with Stephen Graham, Rebecca Ferguson, Tim Roth, and Barry Keoghan in supporting roles.
