Veteran director Chayanika Chowdhury's second book, "Onumoti Prarthona", has been released at this year's Amar Ekushey Book Fair and is available at Pavilion 20. Her first book, "Mayaghor", was published in 2014.

Speaking about her latest release, the "Bishwo Shundori" filmmaker expressed her gratitude to Mahfuz Ahmed, to whom she has dedicated the book. In 2015, she wrote and directed a project of the same name, featuring Mahfuz and Shomi Kaiser in the lead roles.

"There are some people in one's life to whom they can never truly repay their debts, and Mahfuz Ahmed is one such person for me. I hold him in the utmost respect and admiration," she shared.

She then described the storyline of the book narrating, "Ria and Apu appear to share a warm, loving home and a deep connection. But beneath the surface, could there be a hidden flaw in their seemingly perfect relationship? Was Ria truly the only person in Apu's life, or did the history of Ria's parents somehow influence their bond?" 

"And if not, who is Maya, and why does she stir so much tension between them? What causes Ria to doubt Apu because of Maya, and what fuels the intense fear of losing everything?"

"All the answers to these questions lie within the pages of 'Onumoti Prarthona'," she added.
