Following his Tollywood debut last year with Srijit Mukherji's "Padatik", Chanchal Chowdhury is set to appear in another Kolkata-based film. Titled "Tridhara", the film will mark his first on-screen collaboration with acclaimed Indian actress Rituparna Sengupta. Veteran actor Kaushik Ganguly will also join the cast. The project will be directed by Amitabh Bhattacharya.

According to Indian media outlets, the film explores the lives of three individuals, each with a distinct backstory. The narrative unfolds as a love from 25 years ago suddenly resurfaces, disrupting their present and forcing the characters to confront their past and navigate unexpected emotional turmoil.

Rituparna Sengupta stated that while nothing has been finalised yet, initial discussions have taken place. Chanchal echoed a similar sentiment. When contacted by Ajker Patrika regarding his involvement in the film, the actor said, "We've had preliminary discussions. I liked the story and expressed my interest in the project. However, the full plan is yet to be finalised. If everything aligns, the film will go ahead."

Following the political fallout between Bangladesh and India in the wake of the recent public uprisings, cross-border collaboration in the film industry had slowed significantly. However, a renewed momentum is now evident.

Earlier this month, Jaya Ahsan began shooting for Kaushik Ganguly's "Ajo Ardhangini". Now, news of Chanchal's latest Tollywood venture has surfaced.

During this year's Eid-ul-Azha, Chanchal Chowdhury appeared in two films, each earning praise despite his limited screen time. In Tanim Noor's "Utshob", he portrayed a spiritual entity who takes on the appearance of actor Chanchal Chowdhury.

In Sanjoy Somadder's "Insaaf", Chanchal's brief but chilling appearance—bald-headed, holding a blood-stained machete while playing the violin—left a strong impact. His presence altered the tone of the film entirely.

The actor also actively participated in the promotional campaigns, travelling to different theatres almost daily after the films' release. After facing setbacks during the July–August protests, Chanchal Chowdhury has made a striking comeback through these Eid releases.
