From dance floors to camera frames, Ashna Habib Bhabna has always moved with a quiet determination. Art has been a constant companion since her childhood—beginning with dance, where she trained and performed with dedication, before eventually finding her footing in acting. Over the past decade, she has built a reputation for her nuanced performances across television and film.

This Eid, however, Bhabna is stepping into unfamiliar territory.

For the first time in her career, she will be seen as a host, leading a special Eid talk show on Somoy Television. Titled “Eid er Shompadokiyo”, the programme marks a new chapter—one that takes her beyond scripts and into real, unscripted conversations.

Speaking to The Daily Star, Bhabna couldn’t hide her excitement. What makes this experience particularly meaningful for her is the chance to engage with voices outside her own industry.

“I am really happy to share that for the first time I’m anchoring shows,” she said. “It feels even more special because the people I’ve interviewed are not from my industry.”

The show will feature conversations with political figures and members of parliament, including Rumin Farhana, Zonayed Saki, Mohammad Abdus Salam, Aminul Haque, and Shaikh Rabiul Alam. Each episode, with a runtime of around 50 minutes, will air daily starting from Eid day.

For Bhabna, the appeal lies in uncovering the human side of public figures—stories that often remain hidden behind formal personas.

“It was quite interesting to talk to them about the sides people usually don’t get to see,” she shared. “Since the show centres around Eid, they’ve opened up about personal memories and moments from their lives. I believe audiences will really enjoy that.”

Alongside her hosting debut, Bhabna is also returning to the screen as an actor this festive season. She will appear in the web project “Paap Kahini 2”, directed by Shriar Nazim Joy, which is set to stream on iScreen during Eid. Another project, directed by Suman Dhar, is also in the pipeline, with its title yet to be announced.
